Incidence of coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths in the EEA and the UK 2021, by country Published by Conor Stewart, Mar 18, 2021

 

As of March 14, 2021, Czechia had the highest rate of coronavirus deaths among its population in the European Economic Area at 219.53 deaths per 100,000 population. Slovenia has recorded 202.8 deaths from coronavirus per 100,000. Furthermore, the UK has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus deaths in Europe, at 125,516.

Number of cases in Europe

Across the whole of Europe, there have been over 40 million confirmed cases of coronavirus. Russia has been Europe's worst affected country with over 4.4 million cases, this translates to an incidence rate of approximately 3,009 cases per 100,000 population. The UK and France have approximately 4.3 million and 4.1 million cases respectively.

Current situation

France has had the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the last two weeks in Europe as of March 14, at 315,694. While, the rate of cases in Estonia over the last seven days is 780 per 100,000 which is one of the highest in Europe.
