The cost of war

Since the fighting in ‪#‎Syria‬ began almost 5 years ago:
-Hundreds of thousands of people have died
-Half of the health workers have left the country, many have been killed
-Health facilities have fallen into disrepair, medicines & supplies are scarce
-A ‪#‎polio‬ outbreak resurged in the country in 2013, and led to the disease resurgence in Iraq
-Jordan’s refugee population has doubled in recent years; ‪#‎Lebanon‬’s has tripled
The health cost of war. Where health systems are allowed to collapse, viruses and disease outbreaks will become inevitable. War is devastating for all.

Prior to the current conflict in Syria, immunization rates in the country were among the highest in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
