In this animation of images taken by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) aboard the Suomi NPP satellite you can see the Midwestern U.S. before harvest on August 24th, and after most of the harvest season on October 19th.
The changes are quite obvious and show the importance of agriculture in this area, literally changing the face of the Earth in those states.
