Astronomy Picture Of The Day: Are we inside a black hole?

Scientists have discovered a pronounced asymmetry in the rotation of 263 distant galaxies as part of the JADES program. Using the Webb telescope, it was discovered that 2/3 of the galaxies rotate clockwise, and 1/3 - counterclockwise. In a universe that would be randomly organized, such a pattern should not exist. Initially, scientists expected a uniform distribution at the level of 50 to 50. According to the theory of astrophysicist Nikodem Poplawski, our Universe could have arisen inside a black hole, formed as a result of a powerful rebound of matter after the collapse of a star. This process explains why galaxies exhibit asymmetry of rotation - the Universe could have inherited the axis of rotation from the parent black hole in which it formed. This can also explain the axis of time, since movement through the event horizon is only possible in one direction. However, there is an alternative view: perhaps the rotation of the Milky Way distorts observations, requiring a revision of the methods for measuring distances in space.
