The spectacular Messier 81 (M81), also known as Bode's Galaxy, is one of the brightest spiral galaxies in the sky It is located in the constellation Ursa Major, approximately 12 million light-years from Earth. Thanks to its brightness, M81 is easily visible even through a small telescope. The galaxy features distinct spiral arms and an active nucleus harboring a supermassive black hole at its center. Nearby lies the galaxy M82, with which M81 is gravitationally interacting. This interaction influences the structure of both galaxies and intensifies star formation within them.
