This is no longer just a stellar wind—it is a stellar hurricane! In this image, we see the nebula NGC 2020, which has been inflated by the powerful stellar wind of the giant star BAT99-59. This characteristic places the star in the Wolf-Rayet class. It is still a young star with a mass 60 times that of the Sun, but over time, its own intense radiation will cause it to lose the majority of its mass. This magnificent sight can be clearly observed from a distance of 160,000 light-years, as both the nebula and the star are located in the Large Magellanic Cloud—a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way.
