From 1995 through 2003 NASA’s Galileo spacecraft studied Jupiter and its moons. Among the mission's findings was evidence that the Jovian moon Europa has a vast liquid ocean beneath its icy surface. Today NASA announced the instruments that will fly on its mission to Europa, which is currently scheduled for the 2020s.
