Black Hole
NGC 6334, better known as the Cat’s Paw Nebula, is a sprawling stellar nursery in Scorpius that glows with the fierce light of newborn massive stars. Though it appears to nestle near the dense heart of the Milky Way, this cosmic pawprint of glowing gas and dust actually lies only about 5,500 light-years from Earth—close enough for telescopes to peer into its turbulent birth of stars.
