Black Hole Stand at the foot of the largest mountain in the Solar System and the peak curves away beyond the Martian horizon. The volcano rises roughly 27 kilometers above the surrounding plains, nearly three Everests stacked, yet the slope is so broad and gentle that the top is out of sight. What reads as a mountain from orbit is, on the ground, a horizon that never quite arrives.
