XENON1T will join the hunt for dark matter this autumn - physicsworld.com

When it comes online later this year, the XENON1T experiment, which contains 3300 kg of xenon, will be the world's most sensitive means to detect weakly interacting massive particles. WIMPs are hypothesized dark-matter particles. If XENON1T doesn't detect any, WIMPs may still be viable, but perhaps only just.

World's largest direct-detection experiment will be more than 10 times more sensitive than current detectors
