A rare 'blue supermoon' will appear in the night sky today (Aug. 30)
It's reported to be the biggest and brightest moon this year
While there will be a blue moon on August 30th, 2023, the term “blue moon” does not mean that the moon will appear blue (as suggested by the image).
The term “blue moon” relates to when this full moon is occurring, not its appearance.
